Safe Embrace was organized to focus on the special needs of women who were victims of domestic violence. The shelter accepts women and their children up to the age of 17 years. Our congregation provides donations of toiletries, baby supplies and other needed items to support the work of Safe Embrace.

The Food Pantry provides supplemental food supplies to more than 9,000 individuals and families each month.  There is a collection barrel for non-perishable food items located in the CommUnity room on the first Sunday of each month. Unity Angels Network
Unity Angels Outreach Program
Project Leader – Nan Carpenter

The Unity angels are a group of volunteers that are here to help provide meals when life's challenges happen. In times of a new baby's arrival, illness, injury, or recuperation from surgery, we would like to assist Unity folks for up to 2 weeks, by bringing dinner to the home.

Contacting the Angels:

  • You may use a Unity Angels Network request form and place in prayer box
  • You may contact Project Leader Nan Carpenter at 775-772-9159
  • You may contact any of the Chaplains

Who May Request Help From The Unity Angels?
Any member or attendee of Unity Ministry of Reno Congregation.

Thank You To All Angels:
Your wings and touch will extend forth to those in need, and from this you will find that there is an angel in all of us and an angel amongst us always.

Our congregation works with the local Habitat for Humanity project to complete 13 homes in the Reno-Sparks area. Volunteers spend half-a-day on the building site assisting in various construction tasks.

Adopt-a-Park

Adopt a Park – Project Leader – Joyce Patterson

Outreach has identified an opportunity for members of congregation to come together to help our community. Our city needs volunteers to help keep parks clean, attractive and safe for everyone. We have adopted the Northwest Park, 2775 Apollo Way. (The park on King's Row behind Clayton Middle School.) Everyone can participate, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
